"Rising Star" Achievement Awards
Pete Conrad Performance Excellence Award
The top 3 to 5 ED Performance Teams will be awarded the honor
of being designated a Performance Excellence Transfer Enterprise
or PETE Center. The selection will be made based on the performance
improvement that the team achieves, their ability capabilities
to transfer lessons learned to other ED teams, and their leadership.
They will receive a major grant support for the next calendar
year, be made faculty for the next year's class, and they
must agree to train 3 additional teams at their site by demonstrating
process improvement and evidence of measurable impact.

Rafael Rivas Leadership Award
Rafael
Rivas was an aviation hero and entrepreneur who was dedicated
to investing in people and communities. His example of servant
leadership embodies the qualities that we desperately need
in healthcare.
The "rising star" who receives this award will be selected
for their dedication to their communities and teammates.

Bill Lear Innovation Award
Bill
Lear changed aviation and radio history forever as the inventor
of numerous electronic devices for auto and aircraft use.
Mr. Lear was granted 100 patents in the field of aircraft
radio, communication, and navigation. The ultimate challenge
in his life and dream was to build a small businessmans aircraft.
That dream became a reality when the first Lear Jet took off
in October 1963.
The "rising star" who receives this award will be selected
for making the greatest contribution in the area of innovation
and performance impact.

Bill Daniels Entrepreneurship Award
Bill
Daniels was one of those remarkable individuals who achieved
success through a combination of perseverance and good fortune.
Credited as the "father of cable television", he
owned and operated hundreds of cable TV systems throughout
the country. The firm he founded, Daniels & Associates,
is nationally recognized as a leading provider of investment
banking services to media and technology companies. His lifelong
commitment to the country, community, and the free enterprise
system, are the basis for his enduring legacy, the Daniels
Fund.
The "rising star" who receives this award will be selected
for their entrepreneurial skills and achievements.
